Back In Time

Yesterday I came across my diary,
Not that I keep one anymore,
Maybe I should haven’t opened the door,
But I didn’t think that far behind,
Before I knew it I was back in time,

There was the world I’d forgotten,
Full of places, people and the things I’ve lost,
All the dreams and plans that once were mine,
Here I was and I was back in time,

There you were,
And you were all I remembered you to be,
Our story from the day we met,
All through to the day you left,
There we were and we were back in time,

We went to get away,
In our old car,
We wanted to leave that day,
But we didn’t get far,

We broke down on the motor way,
So we got towed home and that’s where we stayed,
We didn’t care and laughed anyway,

It was either that or we’d have had to cry,
And the crying was less, back in time,

Oh, our Christmas’ and birthday’s, dates and valentine’s, they are all still here,
Still here back in time,

There came other pages, but I tore them all out,
Cause my pain is something I’d rather get away from,
Here, when I’m back in time,

I don’t know what you’re doing now,
And I’m sure you think you think you’ve done better with all you found,

But I know there was never a better place to be,
And it’s the only place that does it for me,

Whatever I’ve done, I never commited a crime,
All I’m doing is going back in time
