They said that they’d hurt you and you were crying,
I wanted to feel for you,
Like I used to,
I wanted to rush there and help you pick up the pieces,
And help you find where peace is,
It could have been so sweet,
But my heart didn’t skip a beat,
For so long my head was telling me to let go,
Not to hold on,
As my heart crumbled,
For you had left and gone,
But today it tried to talk me round,
Thinking I’d drop to my feet,
But my heart didn’t skip a beat,
All the logical reasoning,
That once told me to hold it against you,
Didn’t utter a sound,
There was no other reason to not go back this time round,
Everything else took a backseat,
Maybe that was because my heart didn’t skip a beat
