There playing that song,
That once familiar sound,
I can’t escape it,
It can be heard all around,
I remember it used to make us smile,
And I’d hear your laughter,
It made us happy for a long while,
But the last time we heard it,
There was nothing to laugh about,
Nothing to smile for,
We both stood there in silence,
I knew things had changed forevermore,
But on it plays,
Putting me through a living hell,
I’m waiting for the final note,
And no-one else around me can tell,
Maybe it’s just as well..
