Yesterday’s Tomorrow

His girlfriend called, to let him know, She hated her move to the city, And she was coming home, Like him, she was feeling all alone,

His sister’s boyfriend knocked on the door, On his way from work to the hospital, She was going into labour, He knew she’d want him to see the baby for sure,

That job he was turned down for, They called him back, They’d made a mistake, They discovered the guy they hired was a fraud, And he was the better candidate,

His old high school friend, Found him on the web, Oh how they missed him, Maybe they could meet, And have a good time then,

His mother got the all clear, It should have been a happy day, But the night before he took his own life, Because he couldn’t see any reason to go on yesterday.
