Mind Changer

They accused me of selling out, They said I’d betrayed my own ideas, They said I backed down and turned around, They claimed I’d done it in fear,

They were sure I was being cunning and sly, For it went against what I said last year, They claimed I was no longer true to my faith, That my morals were no longer clear,

But the wind that blows is one that’s ever changing, And we must prepare and adapt to face it, I did so open and honestly, I did so surrounded with doubt and fear,

I knew what would happen, I could tell what they would say, How they would think, and the backlash that would last for days,

But I stayed true to myself, I did what I believed was right,
When new evidence comes to light, Sometimes the best move is to change your mind
