Night Writer

It’s now the wee small hours in the very early morning as I write this. I have been up now for over two hours.

As I write song lyrics, as well as poems and stories, recently I became a paid up member of the international guild of songwriters and composers. While I’ve been writing for years now, I only joint the guild this week. I was submitting to the 12 of the songs I had written for copyright registration/verification.

As I sat there at my computer, emailing files across, listening to the greatest hits of Kenny Rogers, and then, later, his “What About Me?” and “Eyes That See In The Dark” studio albums on my Amazon Alexa Dot, as not to sit there in silence, I was thinking how I would have handled this should I have been the age I am now in 1987 (yes, my mind is that random).

I could just imagine me sitting there without a modern computer, and not sending files by email, but with a typewriter, typing out handwritten lyrics to post to the guild by old style mail, listening to the same music on vinyl records.

I guess it’s this very random thinking style that fuels my passion to write. Coming up with various ideas, characters, plots, etc.

It’s now four in the morning (time to play Faron Young) so I’ll try and get some sleep, as I’m not working today.

Take care everyone & stay safe.

Cheers!

Rob
