Hope everyone is having a good week so far. I’ve been busy at work, now back to working full time hours on a permanent basis, so in recent weeks haven’t been able to write as much as I want to, but still doing what I can. Still, at least it puts a little more cash in my pocket, and with Christmas really just around the corner, even if it may somehow still seem far away, that’s certainly a good thing.
Latley, I’ve been writing more song lyrics than anything else. Not on purpose, just how things have come out my head once they’ve developed into the full.
It’s kind of funny as even though songs have always been the medium that inspired me the most as a writer, especially story songs, such as those by country music legend Kenny Rogers, who is really the king of the story song (with great examples being The Gambler, Coward of the County, My Washington Woman and Reuben James, just to name some of his great numbers), I didn’t write songs to start with, I couldn’t, I didn’t know how. I wrote poems. Then, several months later I began writing stories. I still plan to release my first poetry book sometime in 2021, probably via Amazon on both kindle and paperback. My first novel is virtually finished as well, just needs a little ‘fine tuning’ but I’m very proud of it.
Again, I want to thank everyone who reads this for your continued support. Do continue to let me know what you think of what I share here. Your feedback, likes and subscriptions mean very much to me.
Stay safe and keep well
Rob.
