Pinch punch, (happy) first of the month…
I wonder if whoever first came up with that woke up one morning and was feeling great because they had been looking forward to the 1st of a new month for a nice reason.
Those of us who write poetry often write at our best when we are very happy, going through a period of great joy day after day, or when we are very sad and each day brings great and servere challenges to face.
That’s certainly been my experience as a writer. Few great poems are about mediocre times. Indeed, I find the times I am doing ok, but not super great tend not to be as inspiring times for my writing.
Anyway, that point made, I still hope everyone has a great month this October. Myself included!
