The Street I First Saw You

Standing on the street, First time in this town, Though I’ve seen it on film and TV, I’ve always wanted to walk through New York City

A hot dog and cash change hands, $4, with mustard and ketchup, I’m having both, Another $2 for my can of coke

I see the Woolworth building and the statue of liberty, Places I’ve often dreamed I’d be

I see the memorial to to those who lost their lives on 9/11, No matter where you lived, We we all with New York when that happened

I hop in a yellow taxi, Off I go shopping, Driver take me

First Bloomingdale’s, then Macy’s as I look around and see…I meet a girl, Funnily enough her name is Tiffany,

The best thing of all is to have her beside me
It really could now be any city, or any street, As her laugh, eyes, her walk, and what we say as we talk, are now all that matter to me

My love, my darling -Will you marry me?
